I was never into sports. And I never imagined myself getting hooked to watching sports-based animes, like for example, Slam Dunk, Prince of Tennis, and Hajime no Ippo. But Slam Dunk is way too entertaining and funny for a sports anime.

I was in high school when I first heard of it. it was aired on local tv back then, and even though I was able to watch only a few good episodes, it got me hooked. The story revolves around a basketball team in one of the schools in Japan.

My original favorite character there is Mitsui, the MVP player who became a delinquent, got his teeth knocked by a smaller player named Ryota. After some persuasion, he went back to the basketball team (he got his teeth replaced of course, which reminded me of San Diego dental crowns expert) .

And in the present, the series is being aired again. Nothing’s changed when it comes to me watching that anime, except that my most favorite character now is Mito. I’ll always look forward to watching it every morning.
