My parents were watching TV yesterday morning when the PLDT MyDSL Watchpad commercial caught my attention. Watchpad is an internet service from PLDT that allows you to watch 15 cable channels (currently) like Animax, Cartoon Network, CNN, National Geographic Channel and connect to social networking sites in the background. Since we’re subscribed to PLDT MyDSL and this Watchpad is currently being offered all for FREE, I decided to give it a go.

To be able to use Watchpad, you need to register an account first on their website since you’ll be using it to login to the application later. You’ll be asked for an e-mail address (will also serve as your username), nickname, mobile number and a password. You’ll be needing your account number which can be found on your billing statements, and your landline number as well.

It took me some time to figure out how to install Watchpad, and I’d like to share how I did it to those who are still having a hard time installing it. The prerequisites for a successful Watchpad installation  as stated in their website are:

  • .NET Framework 2 and above
  • Adobe Flash Player
  • Windows Media Player 9.0 or higher
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher

Make sure you have the latest flash player installed or simply download the updates from the Adobe website. You may download Windows Media Player 9.0 from here, and Internet Explorer 6.0 from here if your system has lower versions. My system already had updated versions of the three mentioned, except for the .NET Framework, which later on I downloaded from here.

Once your system has all the requirements, you may now go to PLDT Watchpad website using Internet Explorer and launch the Watchpad player (rather, installation). At this stage, installation of Watchpad will begin. Just keep on proceeding til you reach the end of installation process.

After a successful installation, you may now use Watchpad and launch it through Start menu > PLDT > PLDT Watchpad. Login using the account information you registered, and bravo! You’re now few clicks away to watching cable on your pc. Here’s a screenshot I took while watching Animax:

Pardon the blank black screen where the show I’m watching should’ve appeared.  (it seems Print Screen cannot capture image frames of videos)

I find this internet service really nice, since we’ve never had cable TV before and now I’ve availed it at no extra cost.

If you have any questions, or need assistance, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll try to help in the best way I can. :)

Got myself new kicks the other night! Here it is, a white and baby pink Pony sneakers. :)

It’s my very first shoes from Pony. I used to wear Nike and Skechers since high school. Time for a change and try out other brands, I guess?

My feet are still adjusting from wearing slip-ons to sneakers. I hope this shoes will serve me well and last for more than a year or so, as soles wear out easily with my lousy walking. I still want to buy new slip-ons as an extra pair, though. :D

I bought a lot of major stuff in less than a month. Oh the perks of being a working girl. Earning your own money and getting to buy anything you want with it. Sweet~
