Yesterday was one of the longest days I’ve had in a while. I had to balance my time between work and seeing U-Kiss in flesh for the first time.
It was U-Kiss’ first mall show in the Philippines yesterday. I was already at Megamall even before the mall opened, hoping to be one of the firsts to purchase U-Kiss’ Only One album. It comes with a free exclusive promo tour poster and it’s like your ticket to get into the exclusive area and the fansigning which are both on a first-come-first-served basis. I rushed to the Event Center and when I got to the cash register, there were 50-70+ before me on the line. I’ve read somewhere that the line actually reached the 3rd floor after 30 minutes. I was surprised, I actually didn’t expect that much crowd. U-Kiss, you’re very well-loved!
I still felt lucky despite being outran by a few others, I knew I’d still get into that limited an-hour-and-a-half fansigning. The cash register opened late, was very slow with processing purchases and the line barely moved as many were cutting the line. I actually planned on having my bf buy 2 CDs (one for him and the other for me) so I can head back to office but they announced shortly after that one person can only purchase one cd and that you have to get the album yourself. Almost two hours has passed since I got there and I still haven’t gotten myself the album. I had to head back to the office, and I did.Leaving the line was very heartbreaking for me as it meant giving up my only chance of finally meeting the boys. I should have filed for a leave but I can’t, I’d feel bad for being irresponsible. And now I’m feeling bad for not seeing U-Kiss up-close.
Again I snuck out of office with my friend just in time for the mall show at 5pm. The show started with Pretty Young Thing, a local girl group I think. And then the crowd got wild when U-Kiss entered the stage. I was so starstruck with the boys. They were all very very gorgeous! Despite being busy, stressed and lacking sleep. In the music vids, Kevin always stands out by a mile to me, but live, they all appeal to the eyes almost equally. The music vids and all other YouTube videos don’t do them justice! You really have to see them in person and you’ll know what I’m saying.
They performed 5 songs: Bingeul Bingeul, Talk To Me, I Like You, As Long as You Love Me and Man Man Hani. During I Like You, some fangirls in front were even brought by the boys to the stage and given roses, aaah envy! While they were about to perform Man Man Hani, a different song was played and the little mistake was cute.
My favorite U-Kiss members are Kevin and Kiseop. Very pretty boys in person! Shall I say, godly? Now add Kibum to the list, he was so cute and glowing, he kept (shy) smiling and making “pa-cute” at us on the right side of the stage! Fanservice at it’s best! I was giggling and all smiles throughout the entire show, like that highschool-ish feeling, thanks to these boys!

I was being carried by my bf on his shoulders on every performance, just to get the best view from the right side of the stage, as I had failed that morning on getting myself a CD to get into the exclusive area. If you were there and noticed a shameless 20+yo lady wearing brown shirt and being carried, that was me! My bf was shaking from carrying my weight for too long, so I appreciate and thank you bi for supporting me in my fangirling needs!

I’m still tired (and now feeling sick, physically) from yesterday’s event, but it’s all worth it! I want to see them again, too bad SM Clark is too far from here and I’m going to Enchanted Kingdom this Sunday so I couldn’t go to their SM North mall show. But but but, you know, if given once more chance I’m willing to go there before the mall opens, wait for 7 freaking hours and starve inside the exlusive area til I see the boys up-close, get to shake hands with them and let them know about my existence, lol! Fangirling to the max. No more hesitations, I swear.
Their upcoming first Philippines concert was announced to be on May 29, 2010 at Araneta Coliseum! Sweet news! Let’s start saving moolah, U-kiss fans!
Now I’m off to resume watching U-Kiss Vampire! Toodles~
It’s been a year since K-pop took Philippines by storm. If my memory serves me right, it was March last year when Wondergirls became a household name not only here in Asia, but in the Western regions as well, when they toured with the Jonas Brothers. Sandara Park, who had been once a part of our local entertainment industry, and her Korean girl group 2NE1 can also be held responsible for getting many Filipinos curious and end up being inclined with K-pop.
I’m guilty of singing Korean songs without knowing what they mean. Lame, I know. But I’m the type of person who can like a song with just it’s catchy beat. Well, good to know I’m not alone. I listen to these stuff at work and I even got my officemates, be it guys or girls, addicted to almost anything Korean I listen to.
As of the moment, my top favorite Korean girl groups are Kara and SNSD; as for Korean boy group, the one and only Super Junior , who will be having their first ever concert here in the Philippines on April 10, 2010 at Araneta Coliseum as part of their Super Show 2 Tour (which reminds me, I haven’t gotten tickets yet ). I’m sure it’s gonna be as awesome as their other performances I’ve seen on YouTube. I’m stoked! Eunhyuk, I can’t wait to see you! And oh, I’ve just discovered U-Kiss and starting to like them bit by bit. Hoping to see them on Megamall this Friday! That is, if I could get off work early. *crosses fingers*
